Laurel had just spent the entire day working to put yet another criminal thug behind bars but instead of going home and relaxing with a celebratory glass of wine, here she was dressed up in her Black Canary gear. One of her informants had given her some information about a deal that was going down tonight. The last thing she wanted was for more weapons to hit the streets.

Racing down the street on her black motorcycle, she tossed a small hand grenade under a speeding semi-truck causing it to blow out the back wheels as she continued to drive on by.

“Target is immobile. I hope your ready.” She shouts into her ear piece over the roar of her engine.

 "Always"

The voice replied through use of a voice changer to deepen his voice. Within moments, Green Arrow pulled up on his Arrow Bike and joined her. He drew his bow and an arrow from the quiver and aimed at it the truck's door. 

His arrow fired into the side of the back door and detonated the small explosive had attached to it which made the back door fall open and the terrified criminals in the back grabbed whatever weapons they could find to combat the two heroes.

"Ready when you are."

He said to Black Canary with a nod as they got into fighting stance to take on the criminals.

Black Canary had circled back around on her motorcycle and parked it out of the way before rushing up to Oliver's side. She did a quick head count. Fifteen criminals had been hiding in the back of truck. A decent number so whatever they were guarding must be good. She looks over at Oliver.

 “I'll take the ten in the middle, you can pick off whoever tries to escape.” 

 She winks at him and before he can respond, Black Canary rushes forward and lets out a Canary Cry to knock most of them down while they are still grouped together.

 Oliver rushes into the crowd that is still standing and takes a few of them out with some hits with his bow as a striking weapon, the last one tries to run away and he loads his bow again and shoots a net arrow at them that wraps him up and he crumples to the ground, the rest are taken out by Black Canary with relative ease.
"So you were tracking them, what was it that they were stealing? Weapons or tech? Or maybe the plain old bank robbery? Have any leads yet? I've not been able to come up with much on my end...maybe we should wake one of them up."

He says to Black Canary, wating for her reply

“Intel said weapons, but the source was to scared to say anything more about the who.”

Black Canary walked up to one of the thugs who is rolling on the ground, holding his ears. She puts a boot on his throat, keeping him on the ground.

 “I've got a conscious one over here. Though I'm not sure how much he will be able to hear.”

Green Arrow walked over to him and hit his voice changer to sound deeper and more terrifying then normal.
"Wanna tell me where this rig was headed?"

He said pointing the bow at the thug but the thug spit blood and smiled.

"Your not gonna do anything to me, you're a hero. My boss will kill me if I tell you."

Oliver looks over at Laurel. They turned away from the thug and Oliver turned his voice changer off.

"Your call, I go hot and heavy and maybe hurt the guy or we do a little good cop bad cop. If we do things my old way, you may not look at me the same, that's why I'm asking you...this was your case so it's your call."

Black Canary glanced back at the guy who was still smiling a bloody smile. She hated criminals and their smugness. Sometimes she understood the Arrow's desire to put a hurt on them, but they were better than that.

 “He's right. We are the heroes. If you were to go back to your old ways, everyone in this city would hate you for it. You would be hunted down. That's not the kind of name you are trying to make for yourself. Ruling out of fear would make us no better than the criminals we are fighting.”

She shook her head before a smile appeared on her face.

“We can't torture him, but maybe we can play him.”

 Black Canary left their huddle and walked back over to the criminal who was clearly in to much pain to get away from them. She squatted down so that she was more on his level. She began speaking to him in a loud voice so if his boss was nearby or if his boss had eyes and ears out watching the city, he'd hear and get the message.

“I just want to thank you for all your corporation tonight. Telling us where the truck would be and how many men you'd have with you. You've been most helpful.”

She looks back at the Green Arrow to see if he had anything to add.

Green Arrow smiles and adds.
"Yeah you keep this up we may make you an honorary member of the Justice League, or at the very least our "inside guy".

The criminal began to panic.

"I told you nothing!" 

He shouts as Ollie and Laurel looked at each other and shrugged.

"He sang like a Canary, pardon the play on words."

He started to back away, Laurel stayed where she was but Ollie was trying to see if he saw movement from afar.

Black Canary lowered her voice so only the criminal in front of her could hear her.

 “You may have told us nothing, but what is your boss going to think? What are these other lowlifes...” Canary glances to the men still around her. “...going to tell your boss? Are you sure you still want to remain quiet or are you going to take your chances and hope your boss doesn't believe them? Maybe go beg him to believe you over the rest of his crew?”

When the man remains paralyzed with fear, Canary gets to her feet and walks over to Oliver. Keeping her voice low and her look casual, she begins to speak.

 “Any movement?”

Oliver looked over the area and listened in.
"No nothing, whoever it is, he's not taking the risk of getting flushed out..."

He lowered his voice again and spoke to Black Canary.

"So what's the plan? You think we let him go and place a tracker on him to see how it goes? Or do you think we need to just call your Father?"

He pondered those ideas, he could take action but he didn't want to undermine Laurel since this was her operation, he was trying to get back into her good graces as much as possible.

Black Canary wasn't use to Green Arrow letting her take control. He tended to have serious control issues so him letting her take point here and make all the decisions was a bit suspicious, but she wasn't going to put much thought into it right now.

 “Both obviously.”

 They couldn't exactly let the entire group go. They were criminals after all and were trying to distribute weapons. It would be irresponsible of them to leave the gang out here. They would need to call her father, but that didn't mean they couldn't let this one go for now and catch him when his job was complete.

 “Put the tracker on him. Make it seem like you are giving him a hand and a head start for helping us. The SCPD has a quick response time so make sure he feels it's urgent he get out now.”

Green Arrow nods and grabs the criminal forcing him to his feet and secretly placing the tracker on the inside of his jacket.

"Go warn your boss, tell him no more containers will be leaving Star City on his orders! Tell him his days are numbered and that he will spend his life behind bars!"

The thug rushes off as fast as he can as GA gets on his radio.

"Quentin..move in we have  perps for you to arrest."

He nods and looks at Black Canary.

"All in a days work, the tracker is in place."

“He won't go back there right away.”

 She placed her hands on her hips and watched the distance for her father and his men to arrive. She hadn't been lying about their response time. It had improved significantly with all the recent criminal activity in the city.

“Even terrified, he'll have to decide what kind of story he is going to give his boss. Explain how the shipment was stopped. Why he was the only one allowed to escape. Decide what he is going to say if he really believes that one of these guys thinks he was on our side tonight and how to prove he wasn't. He'll want to make sure his neck isn't on the chopping block when he does slither back to his boss. And if he's smart, he'll probably figure we are tracking him on foot and will want to avoid leading us straight to him. So we've got time.”

 She walked over to her bike. She could now hear the sirens in the distance. Her father was almost here.

 “Have Overwatch keep a close eye on his movements. He'll keep moving but his movements will likely be in a pattern. He won't want to stray to far from their base in case he needs to get there quickly. Need a lift?”

Oliver thought about for a second, he and Laurel were finally starting to get closer together recently. He nodded and hopped on her bike. Not use to being in the back but he knew better then to tell Laurel he was driving since it was her bike. He had hoped she at least could trust him again after all these years, that's all he was really asking for since her Father did now.

"Sure, don't mind riding along with you, just let's not call it the "Bitch seat" okay? That's just degrading."

He smiles at her as she starts the bike up.

"Are you heading to the Cave with me? Or do you have other plans? I kinda like us working together, we're a good team"

She rolled her eyes even though he couldn't see it from his position.

 “So is it degrading because you are a man or in general?”

Clearly there was only one answer to that question. Well only one that wouldn't require Oliver walking back on his own two feet. She started the bike thinking about her options. She wasn't sure how well he could hear with the start of the engine on her bike, but she responded anyway.

 “Unless we get another alert that there are criminals nearby, I'm good with going to the hideout. We should update the rest of the team on what happened and get Overwatch to start tracking this guy. Keeping a close eye on him in case he doesn't do as predicted. Why? You have something else that we need to be doing?”

He shouts as she takes off.

"And no actually, I don't have any other cases, And since my have to monitor this guy, looks like it may be a long night, so there goes my other plans for now too."

He nodded but smiled.

"But hey, what better way to spend a night then taking down a bunch of criminals as a team?"

He had hoped to grab dinner at some point, but he couldn't justify going off duty when something may happen at any moment, so he decided he would hold off food or asking Laurel if she wanted dinner as well, unless she herself mentioned it.

The remainder of the ride was silent. There was no way that Black Canary was going to try to shout back and forth with him over the noise from her engine. It would have been a waste of breath and neither was likely to hear much of what the other had to say. She pulled the bike into a deserted back alley that lead to a secret entrance to the underground garage. Once the bike was parked in the garage, she shut off the engine. She had spent the ride thinking about what Oliver had said.

 “Look if you have other plans, I don't mind doing the boring part by myself. I can always give you a call if something happens.”

Oliver shook his head.

"No I was just thinking that we haven't eaten in a few hours, should I go on a food run? Or should we send someone to pick it up for us? I can rush across the street and get us some take out if you wanna watch the computers and head back and we can do a  stake out if your interested?"

He liked the idea of Laurel and himself hanging out all night, he hoped to build her trust even more and he knew she had a lot of questions and that he had a lot if explaining to do about the past, this seemed like a great opportunity to do just that.

He laughed as they walked in and he took his mask off of his face.

"Would you like anything? I can rush over and grab us something quick and be back in five minutes. I'll have my phone on me in case that tracker works and we get hits."

“Most people would be surprised that the great Oliver Queen eats something like pizza. Isn't that a little lower class for you?”

Laurel jokes as she walks over to the computers and checks the map. She was surprised to find the lair empty, but maybe Oliver had really wanted this to be a mission for the two of them without backup. She took her mask off, laying it down on the table before running her fingers through her hair, her eyes watching the moving target. It was moving slowly, carefully. Nothing would happen in the next few minutes while he was gone.

“Just pick me up whatever. I'll keep an eye on this guy.”

Oliver takes off his mask and steps around the corner for a few minutes.
"Nope, you remember you and I used to go get pizza every Friday night after school. And then Saturday was our movie night, Quentin threatened to kill me the first time he saw me."

He laughed.

"But he was just being a good Dad, I see that now."

He stepped back around in his street clothes and hung his costume up in the display case.

"Alright I'll be just a minute, call me if you see anything."

Laurel wasn't quite sure why Oliver was acting all reminiscent tonight. Talking about their past, continually commenting on what a good team they made, seemingly more focused on getting food than catching these guys. Did he not consider these guys a threat? Did he not trust her judgment or her intel? Was he only humoring her and working with her to make sure she didn't screw this mission up?

The thought made her angry, but she kept her back to him while he changed. Her eyes never leaving the screen as she tried to control her emotions. She had done a damn good job since she'd started teaming up with Team Arrow. She had managed to stop countless threats and prove herself an asset to the team. She didn't need Oliver around to babysit her because he thought she couldn't handle this.

 “Yeah, well my dad had reasons for threatening to kill you. You were an irresponsible playboy who was only out there looking for his next conquest. He didn't want to see his girls hurt. Not that I listened. Not that Sara listened.”

 One source of her trust issues with Oliver spilled out accidentally. She shook her head, her back still to him. She wasn't suppose to let those emotions out. She didn't want him to know how much she still didn't trust Oliver Queen, even if she did trust The Green Arrow to have her back. It was different. She quickly turned to him, a fake smile on her face hoping he didn't notice.

 “I think I'll just go change too while you are out getting the food.”

She hurried down the steps, grabbing a bag off the floor and disappeared into another room.

Oliver tried to keep his composure but hew as sure she heard his sigh as he walked around to her, he thought the trip down memory lane would be fun, but she was right..he had been a  terrible person in the past, and that wouldn't just wash away. He walked out of the room and made his way outside, rushing across the street to the local Pizza place and ordering what he remembered to be Dinah's favorite and rushed back over to the cave. He had time to think and she had already changed, but still he felt he needed to say something about what she said.

"Laurel...I'm sorry if bringing that up upset you. I know I was a horrible person in the past and I don't ever deserve your forgiveness. I was terrible to you, to Sara and to your Father. But I hope in time, you can trust Oliver Queen again..just as much as you do the Green Arrow, maybe more. I've changed, I'm never going to betray your trust again."

He spoke softly and calmly to try and convey his emotions to her and so she could trust him more.

"And I take us working together very seriously, we are going to find these guys. But even superheroes need to eat.

Laurel had changed back into street clothes, but her focus hadn't changed. She was still just as focused on this mission as she had been when Oliver left. She knew this gang was up to no good. She suspected that there was a big player behind them because from what she experienced earlier in the night, there was no way any of them had been smart enough to be the leader. If there was a new big bad in town, she wanted to put a stop to it before someone got hurt. And she wasn't afraid to admit to herself that she just didn't know how to deal with Oliver Queen on a personal level anymore. It was just easier to focus on the task at hand then to try and figure out where Oliver fit in her life.

As she listened to him, she wanted to believe that he was telling the truth. That he would never betray her trust again, but wanting to believe something and actually believing it were two different things. It couldn't be forced.

 “Oliver, look, you went through five years of hell and during that time, I thought I had made peace with what you had done. I couldn't exactly stay angry with a dead man, could I? When you showed up here again, it brought things back up that I wanted to forget. I'm trying. I'm really trying to forget it all and just judge you on the man you are now, but it is going to take some time. Please understand that. I'm not ready for trips down memory lane that only serve to remind me of what we once were to each other and what I thought we had. Can we just---”

 Her voice broke. She couldn't help it. She tried to swallow past the lump of emotions in her throat.

 “Can we just focus on the mission?”

Oliver nodded, he didn't want to speak just yet, because he was worried he'd be too overcome with his emotions and say something that might only drive her away or worse yet..break her heart. And he wasn't prepared for that, not this time...he wanted nothing more then to work things out with her, but she needed time and he would much rather it be him to deal with the pain then her right now. So he swallowed his emotions and nodded, faking a smile.

"Yeah we can do that,  saving the city is what should be our top priority. So it only makes sense to make that our main focus."

He laid the food down on the counter and looked at the monitors.

"So anything happen?"

Laurel nodded, thankful that he seemed to be dropping it for the moment and focusing on the case.

 “Yeah, actually. So I'm not as good with these computers as Felicity, but I managed to find some video footage from a surveillance camera near where we were. I used the footage to get a grainy, but somewhat acceptable picture of the guy we let go free and was able to find him in the system. Alan Kelley. He has multiple arrest for a whole list of things – a majority of them were actually made by my father. Basically if you pay this guy enough, he'll transport just about anything and he rarely gives up who hired him.”

She walked away from the computers and grabbed a slice of the pizza. Before taking a bit, she continues.

“The tracker says he is still moving, but he isn't really going anywhere. He's just kind of circling in a small couple of block radius. My gut is telling me that's where his boss is, but it would still be a large area for us  to search at this point. He might spot us and get spooked.”

Oliver thought that over, he didn't want to blow their only chance at a lead on the one pulling the strings. He grabbed a slice of pizza himself and watched the monitors.

"Looks like we have three options. One we wait, and see if he ever comes to a stop, two we call in some help so we can split into teams and search the entire area."

He took a few bites of his food and looked at the mannequin that wore his Green Arrow uniform and then back at Laurel who was intently watching the monitors while she ate.

"Or if your wanting this to strictly be a two of us job, we can split up and you search part of the perimeter while I do another, see what the two of us can come up with."

He weighed those options in his head and waited for what Laurel might say. This was her investigation and to show that he trusted her, he was letting her take the lead in this. And not be such a control freak like he had been in the past.

" Ollie you should watch this ?. Someone is chasing after Alan Kelley. Computer is picking up a green dot. But you're here. "

Green Arrow and Black Canary looks at each other. 

" Who is it ? "

" And you won't believe it ? Police radio picks chatter that Kelley is being chased by Green Arrow "

Oliver and Laurel looks at each other confuse on what is going on here ?  " It seems like we have an impostor " ,Green Arrow Exclaimed. Both quickly suits up to go after this other archer. So they quickly head their way to Alan Kelley's last location where this other Green Arrow was about to strike with his arrow. He looks down at Alan Kelley. His face was covered, whilst on the other hand Oliver and Laurel are on their way to investigate this situation.

Alan Kelley : Please I will tell you everything.

Green Arrow/Connor Hawke (tilting his head ) : I know.

He arches his bow and the tip of the arrow but before he could shoot. Arrow fires from the top of the height and The actual Green Arrow shows up. 

Green Arrow/Connor Hawke : What the fuck ?

" Yes who the hell are you ? "

Green Arrow/ Connor Hawke : Why don't you find out ?

Alan begins to run but was stopped by Black Canary immediately when she knocks him with his siren scream. The sound wave were enough to give Alan a headache before she kicks him in the face.  Where as Oliver Queen and Connor fights off. Knowing each other move perfectly. Like Connor was reading his mind.

Green Arrow/ Connor Hawke : I know every move you going to move. 

" How ? "

" Are you trained on the same island as I was ? "

Green Arrow/ Connor Hawke : no I was trained by you but years later from now on.

Oliver swings his punch, and Connor dodge then hits him with a flip kick, causing Ollie to have his head and neck arches back, with that quick flip then Connor was about to take down Ollie with his bow and arrow. But Black Canary screamed, letting the soundwave do the trick. Stopping Hawke. Oliver unmasking only to see that the man in his teen and looked like younger version of Queen.

" Ollie is it me, he looks like younger self  of you "

Hawke smirked and reply over confidently.

Green Arrow/ Connor Hawke : That's because I am his son. His bastard son. Connor Hawke, does the last name ring a bell ? But I am not from this time. I am from the future and future looks dark. I been sent back to change the future. My change future, look I am telling you the truth here. I know about the island and in couple year you will find my younger self. Who you will take in and trained to become the next Green Arrow. In my time I am the Green Arrow and both of you are well THAT's a different story

The last name sounded very familiar and after looking over at Black Canary, Oliver put his bow down suspiciously lowering it.

"You have my interest, but you better be telling the truth. We're gonna run you through some tests and if your lying..then it won't be pretty."

He says to this other Green Arrow, wanting to trust him for what he seemed to know but also didn't want to get Laurel in harm's way.

"So why are you here? What do you know?"

Oliver asked still using his voice changer to see just what this guy might know and if he really could be trusted. He looked over at Black Canary to see if she had anything to add to the conversation.
